Where Natural Hair is The Norm!
I was wondering if there are any naturals out there who are experimenting with henna color? I am very interested in using a natural dye in my fro, but I would like to get some suggestions please! I have used a liquid henna once and was pretty please with the outcome, however, I have read that the powder has much more benefits. I have actually purchased…Continue

Okay guys I am so confused. So up until recently, I have been avoiding all silicones because I read a bunch of stuff about how they are terrible for your hair. But I found that just co-washing my hair with my As I Am cowash left my hair feeling kinda dry. So I picked up some Aussie Moist conditioner and my hair felt and looked soooooo much better. The Aussie Moist conditioner has a water soluble silicone in it so I figured it wasn't tooo bad. Anyway, one of my friends was telling me how much…Continue

I recently gave birth to my little one on October 8th, 2013. I have lost 30 of the 40 lbs I gained through diet and exercise as of today.Since he was born I have always worn a u-part wig during exercise. It wasn't an issue at all. I maintained my natural hair underneath by washing and keeping my scalp moisturized. Now that I am fully natural and no longer wearing my u-part wigs, I need a little advice on how to maintain my natural hair so that it doesn't break off. I have been washing my…Continue
Hey dolls. I thought I'd make a post on Faux locs as a protective hair style as well as the difference between using kinky/marley hair or yarn locs to achieve them. I tend to switch up my hairstyles frequently, it's a bad habit of mine but all is fair when you know how to do your own hair :) !…Continue

Happy Day After Christmas All,
The day before Christmas I was thinking about my hair. My TWA is just at the three month mark. As most of you know I was all about my waved style until my hair decided that it wanted to do something different, so now I am rocking my TWA full force. The holiday season is here and I was thinking about how I was going to wear my hair for Christmas, being that I don't have a whole lot to begin with. Last Christmas I was wearing a 14inch weaved style which…Continue

So just as I thought I was coming up on my 4th month of being natural I decided to get a haircut. I felt like my hair was too long, something was off, the two different textures in my head was driving me crazy. I went to the hairstylist I have been going to since I was 10 instead of the guy that had cut my hair previously to find out: ALL THIS TIME I STILL HAD PERM IN MY HAIR!
Call me stupid, but I didn't know. I mean I have not ever in my life done my natural hair. I really thought I…Continue

It's been almost a year since I've been on here.
To be honest, I haven't been i n love with my curls as much as I used to be. Don't get me wrong, I have no intentions of relaxing, but I find myself "needing" my hair braided more and more. I've taken to yarn braids, and most recently tried crocheting in Marley Twists.
My execution wasn't the best, but I kept them in for about a month.
I'm finding myself more and more obsessed with…

So as we know I posted about how the mini twists didn’t do me so well. And how I needed a new protective style. As I was scrolling through the natural hair tag, which I often do, I found this
And when I saw it I knew immediately that…
